Yellow-Bodied Grass

Yellow-Bodied Grass

The yellow-bodied grass sawed and twisted in the wind,
And I thought of you.

How lithe they seamed, in their dance: their torsos twisting,
And I thought of you.

How far down they bent, in the wind, before snapping back.
How serious they seemed, when standing there and how
Happy when bent over again.
